Nice bar at the rooftop with a view on ve main street. Good place to relax

Arusha Backpackers is a very nice hostel. We stayed there before and after the safari for 3 nights in total. It's not a luxury hotel but for the price you pay you get all you need. The breakfast is a little buffet with bread, spread, cornflakes, dates and watermelon as well as coffee and different kind of teas. The washrooms are clean and the showers have hot water. The rooms are a little small but clean and the beds are comfortable. They have a big terrace on the roof where you can buy drinks. The staff is very very friendly. The location is perfect if you want to explore Arusha or go on safari. They have a big luggage room where you can leave your bags if you go on safari. All in all this is a very good Hostel and I would recommend to stay there.

There is no ventilation in the room that we slept. The location is good since it’s down town…..it’s a few minutes walk to shoppers supermarket. The breakfast was ok. Hot water available made our stay easier. But the rooms are not spacious

I thank the management and staff of Backpackers. They were very warm and easy to talk to. Very neat washrooms and rooms. Very affordable.

There is a tour office in the building, those guys are super helpful, nice and will help organise everything such as Safaris.

Let's be honest: You go there because it's cheap and for no other reason. And that's okay. But of course you can't expect much because of it.
The room I had was very small but had everything you need. Bed, table and two working outlets. Since you're not going to stay in your room anyway and just need it for sleeping, what more do you need?
It was not very soundproof and since you're located on the main road I would recommend earbuds if you're noise sensitive.
The WiFi did work but only in certain parts of the building.
The area seems a little dodgy but at least in my experience it was fine. By foot, it's twenty minutes from the clocktower. If you don't like walking, there are bikers or Tuk Tuks waiting outside at almost all times so you can just take one of those.
The breakfast starts at 6:30 but it's African time so I wouldn't expect anything until 7:15. The breakfast itself, when it's ready, is fine but, of corse, nothing too fancy.

Located within CBD, safe to walk in all hours. Fairly price, basic bar at the rooftop with cold drink.

Rooms categories from sharing dormitory, single rooms, double decker and standard room's. Affordable Accommodation rates.

Not a luxury hotels but just a basic budget accommodation in Arusha city center.

Convenient to all City market and shopping malls. It's a bed and breakfast facilities.

Airport transfer, excursions and wildlife photo safaris to all national parks can be arranged here. Trekking to mountain Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru trips can be organized at a very fair budget

Good price for a hostel, staff were super nice m, but vibes could be much better. It’s a large facility but feels a bit like a ghost town, restaurant upstairs was strange (couldn’t tell if it was a real place with food) and could be converted to more of a social space. Bathrooms were strange, there were just open urinals while people walk to their room, also showers people can see you while they walk by. Breakfast was very basic.

The real negative part is the area. I’ve never been bothered so much by people outside the hostel, following me for blocks trying to sell safaris or drugs despite saying no. Not the hotels fault but I wouldn’t stay in this area again.

Nice secondhand market nearby.

Verbleven in heg backpackers hotel. Dit was een ervaring op zich. Hef personeel is vriendelijk en doet hun best maar het gebouw en de locatie laten te wensen over. Aller eerst de kamer waar wij in kwamen was onder de maat. Het drie persoons stapelbed plakte aan alle kanten en op het derde bed kon niet geslapen worden omdat hier opklimmen niet mogelijk was. Ook geen ventilator of klamboe aanwezig wat wel aangegeven staat als je een kamer boekt. Dit aangegeven en hierdoor kregen wij een extra bed op de kamer en en een ventilator. Heel fijn voor het meedenken maar hierdoor was er geen ruimte om je koffer neer te zetten of te bewegen. Het gordijn was te kort, hierdoor kon iedereen naar ons kijken wat er voor zorgde dat we in de nacht iemand hadden die naar ons zwaaide en op onze deur klopte.
De badkamer is onder de maat. Wc spoelen niet goed door wat voor vieze situaties zorgt. Wel word de badkamer elke ochtend schoongemaakt.
De douche werkt niet optimaal maar doet wat die moet doen. Wel kan je tijdens het douche de mensen op de gang zien en als je te lang bent de mensen op de gang jou ook. De urinoir staan in een open ruimte die voor iedereen zichtbaar zijn wat enige ongemakkelijke situaties kan zorgen.
Het ontbijt is onder de maat met het bedrag wat je er voor betaald. De boterhammen zijn uitgedroogd en het zoete beleg ( jam en pindakaas) is standaard aanwezig. Verder is er weinig keus of variatie.
De locatie is erg onprettig. De bushalte zit voor het gebouw en aan de linker en rechterkant zit ook nog een tankstation. Dit zorgt voor veel lawaai de gehele dag en nacht door. Door de vele mensen die deze locaties trekt heeft het een grimmige sfeer.
Ik zou eerder aanraden om naar een ander hostel te gaan om een veilig gevoel en rust te ervaren. Het personeel is nogmaals vriendelijk en doet zijn best om je te helpen waar ze kunnen.

Best budget place in Arusha

It was good, best value you can get for the price in Arusha. So I recommend for any person on a budget/backpack. But cleanliness could be improved. Breakfast was adequate.
