PARC NATIONAL DU KILIMANDJARO (KINAPA)
A remarkable national park, classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site, in Kilimanjaro.
The entrances to the park are the "gates" at the bottom of each lane, or "climbing route" (there are 7 lanes in total). But the real limit of the park is the 2 700 m isocurve. The area below is a forest reserve, and in some places, a game reserve, founded in 1921, but where hunting is no longer practiced. The park, which took this status in 1973 and was classified as a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1989, measured 756 km2 but has been extended to 1,668 km2.
