Popular and lively fish market, an excellent seafood address in Dar es Salaam.

This popular place is especially lively. The northern part is called the Lebanon, where you can find local brandy and medicinal herbs. Near the bay to the south is the covered market, with all the shellfish: cheap lobsters, Dungeness crabs, shrimps, many deep-sea fish of all colours: blue barracudas, red snappers, spotted lampris, tunas, t'asi (coral fish without scales), groupers, sea bass. Many fish are gutted, grilled and sold on the spot by the fishermen's wives.
