In Stone Town, it's very hot, the air is often heavy, and the beach doesn't necessarily appeal to you because the water is polluted by big boats, that's a fact. If you feel like cooling off for an afternoon, the Tembo Hotel's swimming pool is open to non-residents. You can lounge on deckchairs, take a dip in the cool, clear water, order a cocktail or a dish à la carte, in vacation mode, but right in the heart of the city. In fact, there are two swimming pools: the second is upstairs, much less crowded, with a view! A good deal.
