RED MONKEY BEACH LODGE
Lodge located in the south of Jambiani offering nicely furnished rooms and a rooftop with a superb view of the turquoise waters.
Located to the south of Jambiani, this lodge has the privilege of being frequented by a colony of Red Colobus monkeys that invite themselves into the trees - a real spectacle. The rooms are nicely furnished in the Zanzibar style, but quite simple, which explains the affordable prices. The hotel now boasts a swimming pool, ideal for cooling off at low tide, a rooftop dining area with superb views over the turquoise waters, and a kitesurfing club. Barbecue evenings and live music (jam sessions) every Sunday evening in the bar. A place to relax and have fun.

There is mouse poo on the shelf, the ground and in every corner.
The water in the shower and the sink is salty like it comes directly from the sea. The towels are sticky and dirty.
The beach was black instead of white because of a big layer of smelly algaes (30cm high, you can barely walk on it) and no one even tries to clean it.
Not even the huge amount of dirt, plastic etc….
So the most pics here on maps are not very realistic.
The worst thing was the very very loud party once a week.
As there are no windows it feels like you’re sleeping directly next to a bass box and even with ear plugs you can understand every word of the music.
So please, don’t go there with kids or if you’re not used to sleeping in very loud environments. Also the German female owner was embarrassing. She was very loud, had no sense for physical distance, running around drunk and very unfriendly.
We didn’t feel at home at all!
The only nice thing we’re the two dogs.
We also asked for a laundry which was way too expensive but we wanted to do it to have at least some fresh clothes. When asking the lady was rolling her eyes, making us feel like a burden and that it would be not possible until the day after tomorrow as they wash by hand not by machine, so we decided not to be a burden and wash it on our room in the salty water, which wasn’t a good idea as the laundry got as sticky as the towels & also smelly.
