OLD STONE TOWN
An address rich in tourist sites in Kilwa Kisiwani.
To the west, one passes by the only vestige of the great stone city of yesteryear: the large circular well, from which water, very good, is still drawn. Continuing the visit by the tombs of the 40 sheiks and by the cemetery of the families of the sultans of Kilwa, one reaches, near the creek (covered with water only during high tides), the mosque of Jangwani, in rather poor condition. However, on each side of the main door, there are two small reservoirs for the water used for ritual ablutions.
