Backpackers looking for a good local place to stay in Morogoro on a budget can opt for the Sophia Hotel, which is neon coloured at night. This small and pleasant hotel is located north of the city center, it is not in the center but it is the cheapest among those which propose a minimum of comfort and equipment (hot water, air conditioning). You don't have to be demanding, the rooms are furnished very modestly, but we appreciate here their cleanliness with their individual bathrooms, the warm welcome and also the wifi, very practical.

Even better if: they made their breakfast with better options cereal and powder milk and offer fried eggs. Also their workers should help guests with their luggage. Just basics for a 50k per night room.
Overall, 3 stars. There is always room for improvement especially service based on how much you pay for a room. It shouldn’t be just for the the room the service and food should match.
