The MV Songea connects the ports on the Tanzanian coast of the lake to Mbamba Bay. The MV Iringa, smaller than its counterpart, makes a short trip along the shores of the lake to reach the nearest ports on the Tanzanian coast as far as Manda. Only this ship stops at Matema. Its frequency is much less regular
