SAGNES NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE
Reserve dedicated to the protection of peat bogs and natural wetland habitats in the heart of the Cézallier mountain pastures, at La Godivelle.
La Godivelle is the highest commune in the Puy-de-Dôme. It is especially worth a visit for the National Nature Reserve of the Sagnes and peat bogs of La Godivelle, in the heart of the Cézallier mountain pastures, at an altitude of 1200 m. Created in 1975 to protect the peat bogs and natural wetland habitats, it is one of the oldest in France. The heart of the peat bog is not accessible but a discovery trail is marked out. There are also walks in the surrounding area.
