Nice roots complex with a friendly restaurant in Kasanga offering boat trips to Kalambo Falls.

Nice roots complex where the cottages are on the beach with a view on the Tangayika. They are divided into three large bungalows equipped with a bathroom with hot water, and six tents installed under a makuti roof. It's affordable, right in the middle of nature. And there is a friendly restaurant on site that serves good local food. Oscar the owner also organizes boat trips to Kalambo Falls, which is very convenient. All in all, a good place to stay for a while, why not while waiting for the MV Liemba...

Kasanga town is worth a detour, and Liemba lodge is definitely worth spending some time, if you like quiet, relaxing places just next to the beach. There are four bungalows, one tented camp and plenty of space for camping. Owner is very nice man and great company for sharing ideas. The town can be now accessed by a good tar road, only a detour of 400 meters to his lodge is still unpaved. There's also a restaurant and boat they offer for scenic lake ride. I personally enjoyed hiking, as you get the best views of the lake from the hills nearby.
