CINÉMA METRO
The first cinema in Alexandria, built by Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), still has seats on the balcony or in the orchestra, and an intermission in the middle of the film. In its time, it was considered to be the most beautiful cinema in the city, and was a real attraction. Tom & Jerry's were shown there on Sunday mornings for children, and every week there was an all-female session with beauty contests, distribution of cosmetics, women's magazines, etc. The audience was also given the opportunity to watch Tom & Jerry's on Sunday mornings. It kept its patina, very Art Deco.
