NATIONAL MUSEUM
A 3-storey museum offering a careful selection of archaeological finds, including the entire history of Egyptian art.
The National Museum of Alexandria, opened in 2003, aims to present the whole of Egyptian artistic history, thanks to a careful selection of 2,000 archaeological pieces, unlike the Greco-Roman Museum, which is more focused on Alexandria. Arranged over three floors in the former Al-Saad Bassili Pashil Palace, it features curiosities such as the Tanagras collection, statuettes designed to accompany the dead on their funeral journey. It also displays more recent objects, such as magnificent sets of royal jewelry.
