ANCIENT GARDENS
Gardens featuring statues of explorers, as well as paths and flowerbeds inspired by the classicism of French gardens.
The Antoniadis gardens surround the eponymous palace, built in the mid-19th century. It has hosted many guests of the king of Egypt. The alleys and flowerbeds are inspired by the classicism of French gardens. Marble statues of the great explorers brighten up the route. There is also an ancient tomb dating from the 3rd century BC. Unfortunately, they are rather badly maintained.
Not far from the gardens, the Mahmoudieh Canal, built in 1819, runs its course and skirts the entire city. This canal comes from the Nile and flows into the Mediterranean in the Mex district
