A small hill at the entrance to the village, ideal for a guided tour to see tombs from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods.
Literally "the hill of the dead". A small hill, at the entrance of the village, with blanks full of tombs from the Ptolemaic and Roman periods. They were used as shelters for the inhabitants during the Second World War, and it was at this time that they were discovered. Three of them are open to the public and keep on their walls some beautiful frescoes to the glory of Amon, Isis and Osiris. The guardian will give you a guided tour (in the original version without subtitles) for a modest baksheesh.
