Opened in 1987, the National Museum houses important collections retracing the entire history of Egypt. It gives a synoptic view of the history of Egypt. The first floor is devoted to prehistory and the Pharaonic period with the exhibition of mummies and sarcophagi as well as various statues. On the next floor, Islamic and Coptic objects are displayed: textiles, manuscripts, coins and artefacts of the Khedival family. Interesting visit although there are more complete in the country ...
