FARAN MOSQUE

Located in the Old City, the Sheikh Al-Farran Mosque of its full name is the oldest in the city of El Quseir. Its architecture is typical of southern Egypt with Sudanese inspiration; the minaret of the mosque was built later, in 1704. The mosque is open to all, except during times of prayer. Nevertheless, please respect the local dress code: dress should be modest and cover the whole body, women should cover their heads with a scarf or shawl and shoes should be placed at the entrance.
