HOTEL W BARCELONA
A true monument in its own right, the W Hotel is always making people talk. Worth a visit, just for the pleasure of the eyes.
Known as the "Hotel Vela" because of its sail-shaped architecture, the W is the work of Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill. Opened at the end of 2009, it is an icon of the coastline due to its exceptional location (literally feet in the water) and its avant-garde architecture. The 360º view of Barcelona, the swimming pool, and a restaurant run by one of the most media-savvy chefs of the moment (Carles Abellán, formerly of Le Bulli) are all arguments for attracting VIP and international clients.
