For All Saints' Day, we offer each other panellets (sweets) and we participate in a castanyada (fire where we roast chestnuts).

For All Saints' Day, we offer each other panellets (marzipan candies and pine nuts) and we participate in a castanyada. This Catalan tradition comes from an old funeral celebration, which consists in sharing a meal made of roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes, candied fruits, and of course the essential panellets. The castanyera, the emblematic character of this celebration, is represented as an old woman poorly dressed, her face hidden under a scarf. Many traditional songs are associated with this character.
