TEMPLE OF SAGRAT HOR
Temple expiatoire du Sacré-Coeur at the foot of a century-old amusement park with elevator access to the terraces
The expiatory temple of the Sacred Heart dominates the Tibidabo hill at 532 meters. The name takes up the Latin translation of Satan's words, who wanted to corrupt Christ by presenting the world to him at his feet: "tibi dabo" ("I will give it to you"). The temple, begun in 1902 by Enric Sagnier, was only completed in 1961, with the installation of the statue of Christ on its summit. Notice the crypt's portal, inspired by modernism, decorated with mosaics. Access to the terraces is by elevator. At the foot of the temple is the century-old amusement park.
