PALACE OF THE GENERALITAT
Palace hosting many official government acts and preserving magnificent examples of flamboyant gothic
An elegant building of medieval origin houses the main seat of the Catalan government in Plaça Sant Jaume. Its facade is in the Renaissance style, but construction of the building began earlier, in the 13th century. On some weekends, free guided tours are organized. For about an hour, you will discover the magnificent rooms hidden inside the palace. Not to be missed: the pavilion of St. George with beautiful works of art, the Gothic gallery in the central courtyard and the flamboyant Gothic chapel of St. George.
