GÜELL PAVING STONES
Property in the Pedralbes neighborhood suggesting a guided tour to visit the Mudejar influenced stables
In 1884, Eusebi Güell commissioned Gaudí to renovate one of his properties in the Pedralbes district, creating a gateway and two pavilions for the stables and janitor's lodge. The architect drew inspiration from Jacint Verdaguer's epic poem L'Atlàntida (1877) for the splendid dragon on the wrought-iron gate. This masterpiece of Modernist wrought-iron represents Ladon, guardian of the Garden of the Hesperides. A guided tour of the site includes a visit to the Mudejar-influenced stables. Reopened in June 2024.
