PALAU REIAL DE PEDRALBES
Palace becoming the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean with a pergola and a bench-fountain
Between 1919 and 1931, the Palau Reial de Pedralbes was the residence of the Spanish royal family when they visited Barcelona. Today it is the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean. Originally, Eusebi Güell gave the land to the Crown as a sign of gratitude for his ennoblement. In the gardens of the Palau, you can see two works of Gaudí: a wrought iron pergola drowned in vegetation, and a bench-fountain dedicated to Hercules. In summer, a great music festival is held in these gardens.
