An unfinished garden city, where you can stroll through the magical world of Gaudí... Take a pose on his famous bench in trencadís!

A true emblem of Barcelona, Parc Güell was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. This impressive garden, punctuated by various structures designed by Gaudí, was intended to receive a luxury urbanization. Indeed, Eusebi Güell, a man of great culture, had settled in an old building of the seventeenth century, located on Mount El Carmel, then known as the "peeling mountain". He imagined with Gaudí a garden city to populate this place where nature refused to proliferate. The project was finally abandoned, but Gaudí wanted to create a park on this 17-hectare site, in which architecture, inspired by the forms of nature, would accompany wonderful gardens. You will notice that the Park Güell is imbued with an extremely strong religious symbolism. Thus, the 60-meter difference in elevation allowed the artist to trace a spiritual path that would allow visitors to ascend to the chapel that would be located at the top. Finally, it is the sculpture of the Calvary that exists today at this location and offers a breathtaking view of the city. Several monuments accompany you during your walk. You will be greeted by the mosaic of the dragon and you can then join the hypostyle room, the garden of Austria, the place of nature or the portico of the washerwoman, all in harmony with the surrounding nature, whether in the colors of the mosaics or in the forms released from the imagination of the artist.
