REI LED PLACE
Charming square with a late Gothic palace with a beautiful Renaissance patio
The Plaça del Rei is representative of Barcelona's medieval past. In this charming square is the Palau Reial Major, residence of the Crown of Aragon. The 14th-century Royal Chapel of Santa Agata stands against the ancient Roman wall. To the left, the 16th-century Palau de Lloctinent has a particularly beautiful Renaissance patio. The Casa Padellàs, a late Gothic palace built between 1497 and 1515, houses the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat. In the basement, the remains of the Roman city can be visited.
