Opening hours Barcelona
To see / To do Barcelona
Municipal museums are generally open from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 7pm, and closed on Mondays. Opening times vary according to location and season, so be sure to check museum websites for practical information. Modernist monuments, most of which are privately managed, have much longer opening hours. They are generally open every day of the year, some even in the evening.
Enjoying yourself Barcelona
In general, Catalans usually have lunch around 2pm on weekdays, and dinner in the evening from 9pm. On Sundays, they opt for the 3:30 pm service to share a paella . and not before! Obviously, Barcelona being a very international city, the restaurants offer quite ample timetables. During the week you can have lunch from 1pm, and at weekends you can opt for the 1.30pm service in fish restaurants. In the evening, the service starts around 8.30pm. Be careful, many restaurants close on Sunday evening, remember to check the timetables! Be also provident in August: most (non tourist) restaurants take holidays during this period. This is also the case during the first days of January. Finally, for the most fashionable tables, remember to book at least 24 hours in advance!
Take a break Barcelona
During the week, the Barcelonians usually meet at around 7pm to have an aperitif after work. On weekends, it is rather around noon that we meet to drink a caña (beer) or the famous vermut. Most of the bars are open every day, some close on Sunday evening.Happy hours are not practiced, but prices are generally cheaper than in France, except in very touristy places.
(To) please yourself Barcelona
Small shops are generally open Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm and from 5pm to 8:30pm, and on Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Larger stores open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8.30pm. In summer, most shopping centers are open until 10pm. Stores are generally closed on Sundays, with the exception of the Maremagnum shopping center and a few stores in the historic center and along the coast.
Get out Barcelona
Nightclubs generally fill up quite late in Spain, but this depends above all on their clientele. In the clubs around the Olympic port, frequented by tourists, the atmosphere is already very lively around the stroke of midnight. On the other hand, the clubs in the Zona Alta, popular with young Barcelonians, don't fill up until 2am...
Generally speaking, clubs open every day in the tourist areas (Olympic port, Plaça Reial). In the rest of the city, they are generally open from Thursday to Saturday.
