Demeti is the first meyhane in the Cihangir district. There's no fuss here, and you'll feel right at home thanks to the coquettish yet simple decor, with celebrity portraits rubbing shoulders with family photos on the walls. Mediterranean cuisine is served here with rakı: the mezze is tasty and the prices reasonable. But you can also bend the rule and enjoy a hearty breakfast on a sunny afternoon. The terrace offers a superb view of the Bosphorus. Reservations are recommended for dinner.
