Ideal to discover Ottoman cuisine of high standing in a setting similar to a seraglio, right in the middle of Beyoğlu.

This sign serves family dishes but in a slightly more luxurious version. The decoration is reminiscent of the Ottoman period. There are the classics of Turkish cuisine: soups, especially lentil soup (mercimek çorbası), aubergines stuffed with meat (karnı yarık), grills, and all kinds of vegetables prepared in olive oil. We particularly recommend lamb with its aubergine purée (kuzu incik patlıcan). This place is ideal for discovering Ottoman cuisine during lunch because they do not serve alcohol.

Nous sommes allés diner dans ce restaurant suite à la recommandation d'une connaissance turque. Nous avons été très déçus: déçus par l'accueil: le serveur qui malheureusement ne parlait que très peu anglais avait l'air très ennuyé de répondre à nos questions sur les plats. Si bien qu'à la fin, nous lui avons fait comprendre. Du coup il s'est excusé et nous a ramené un plat additionnel.
La nourriture n'était pas extraordinaire, et certains plats, dont l'agneau, n'avait pas de goût. Nous ne recommandons pas ce restaurant.
