MAUSOLEUM OF THE SULTAN HATICE TURHAN (VALID SULTAN TÜRBESI HATICE TURHAN)
It depended, in reality, on the Yeni Camii mosque. The redevelopment work launched in the 1950 s completely altered the site. Under his imposing dome 15 m in diameter, decorated with beautiful tiles of Grand, he hosts the remains of five sultans and several members of the family of the Ottoman dynasty, including the one who left his name, the sultana Hatice Turhan (1627-1683) and her son Mehmed IV (1648-1687). The other sultans were Osman III (1754-1757), Mustafa II (1695-1703), Ahmed III (1703-1730) and Mahmud I (1730-1754). In this respect, it is considered the most important cemetery dedicated to the dynasty. The part on the right wing is a library built in the time of Sultan Ahmed III. The fountain is located at the corner where Islam Hayriye Efendi Caddesi begins. On the side you can see another mausoleum, that of Havatin (same Schedule), where Murad V (1876) and his mother, the valid Sultana--Efza, rest. The mausoleum, built on a square plane and covered with a dome, is in a large stone, with a massive ebony door, impregnated with ivory and @. The interior of the monument is lined with ceramic panels and decorated with ciselures. Murad IV, Mustafa II, several of their sons, the Sultana Hatice Turhan and many high dignitaries at the time rest in this mausoleum or in the adjoining cemetery. The public fountain (sebil), rectangular and whose walls are meshboxes, has an inner dome and was built together with another fountain of the complex in 1663.
