SALT GALATA
The Levantine architect Alexandre Vallauri designed the impressive original SALT Galata building to house the Ottoman bank, which was inaugurated in 1892. SALT Galata includes SALT Research, which provides public access to thousands of print and digital resources, a 218-seat auditorium, the renovated Ottoman Bank Museum, workshop spaces, an open archive where archival research projects are interpreted and discussed, a temporary exhibition space (programming on the website), as well as a café, restaurant and bookshop.
