With its modern museography, Deniz Müzesi is as much a pleasure to visit as it is to learn about. Of course, you'll learn about Byzantine and Turkish history, especially in the basement, where the story of the siege of Istanbul is well told. But what impresses most are the majestic caiques, which give an idea of the grandeur of the Ottoman Empire. Opposite, the mausoleum of Barbarossa, the admiral who conquered Algiers in 1516.
