Once in a sorry state, the traditional Ottoman houses were completely restored by the Turing organization and opened to tourism in 1984. Two Byzantine cisterns have also been converted, one into a bar, the other into a restaurant. Even if you're not staying here, the street is well worth a visit. Above all, it gives a very good idea of what the old streets looked like in the Ottoman era. Stop off for a cup of tea or coffee.
