The destiny of Roxelane, first slave then wife of Sultan Soliman the Magnificent, is extraordinary and the hammam that bears his name is no less so! Dating from the 16th century and the work of Master Sinan, it is one of the architect's many gems. Closed in 1910, it was restored in 1980 and transformed into a carpet shop! As this is an official state store, prices are displayed, which is unusual in Istanbul. It should be noted that the vast majority of carpets are made according to the patterns of those exhibited in museums.
