Symbol of the city, it rises in the middle of a garden lined with cypress trees, in front of the green mosque. Despite its name, the türbe is not green, the turquoise blue coating was added after the 1855 earthquake. This magnificent octagonal building, decorated with glazed earthenware tiles, houses the tomb of Sultan Mehmet I and his three sons. Mehmet's sumptuous sarcophagus is decorated with calligraphic inscriptions and plant and floral motifs.
