BAZAAR (BEDESTEN)
Built by Yıldırım Beyazıt in the 14th century, destroyed by an earthquake and restored in the last century, this bedesten (vaulted warehouse for valuable goods) has, with its fourteen domes, the characteristic architecture of the great medieval covered markets. Here you will find the treasures of Bursa and many jewelers. The Gelincik and Sipahi bazaars are further north, while the Bakırcılar (copper) market is to the west and the Aynalı (mirrors) market to the south. Would you like to have a cup of tea? Go to the Aşıklar Kahvesi café in Nilüfer Pazarı.
