The museum, a large and beautiful marble and Islamic-style building, stands behind a bronze equestrian statue of Atatürk. In the entrance hall, a marble slab remains that depicts the tomb of Mustafa Kemal, before it was permanently moved to Anıt Kabir, the mausoleum erected in his honor. The museum exhibits a collection of very interesting costumes, handicrafts, household utensils, weapons, jewelry and musical instruments.
