10 km from Kaymaklı to the south, dolmuş from Nevşehir. With a depth of about 85 m, you can see almost every part of a town that is buried underground in order to be able to escape it in the event of a threat: barn, canteen, deposits of food and beverages (wine), wells, churches, ventilation tunnel… It is the deepest and the largest known today, it could accommodate up to 10 000 people. The rooms are often large and the corridors are easy to access. Perhaps the most surprising will be to learn that the visible part would only be 1/10 of its real size!

C'est l'un des endroits que j'ai aimés à Cappadoce une visite exceptionnelle ville souterraine pouvant y accueillir 10 000 personnes et en 8 étages, une expérience à ne pas manquer !

Une succession de pièces et d'escaliers à donner le tournis
1ère visite de cité souterraine, avec nos enfants, nous avons adoré.
8 étages visitables (sur 10 connus) soit 30% de la surface déblayée. Trouver des conduits non éclairés et y partir en exploration à la lampe de poche est grisant. Peut aussi être oppressant, quand on se retrouve coincé aux heures dans une pièce de 4 m2 avec 20 autres personnes. A noter qu'à partir de 17h30-18h, en été, on se retrouve quasi tout seuls.
Bien que génial, nous lui avons encore préférée Kaymakli, visitée quelques jours plus tard (moins structurée, plus 'gruyère')
