INCE MINARE MEDRESE
This former Koranic school houses the Museum of Wood and Stone Sculpture (Taş ve Ahşap Eserler Müzesi). Built in 1258, it has a beautifully carved portal, a perfect example of the splendour of Seljuq art. Its high minaret was truncated during an earthquake at the beginning of the century. Inside, one can admire the abstract and geometrical patterns found on earthenware, fabrics, wood and marble. To get an idea of what the winter palace of Alaeddin Tepesi was like, take a look at the collection of 19th century engravings.
