In the city center, Hızırbey Camii is the largest mosque in Eğirdir. Its age is uncertain, but assumptions point to the era of Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II (1237), during the Seljuk era. It would have been restored a first time in the 14th century by Hızır Bey (hence its name) of the Hamidid dynasty and a second time after the fire of 1814. Note the blue tiled minaret, the very nice and elegant chiseled porch all in stone and the beautiful carved wooden doors. For the rest, the building is sober, some would even say austere.
