The Archaeological Museum of Alanya opened in 1967 is a modest museum which has an ethnographic section and an archaeological collection rather interesting with some remarkable statues, like that of Hercules (Heracles) which dates from the 2nd century. The whole is located in a very pleasant garden where superb peacocks have taken up residence! A small room is dedicated to maritime traffic and ships, and presents the ancient port of Alanya.
