If the origins of Olympos are unclear, it is certain that its port was very important in the Lycian League. The site is accessible via a narrow gorge, the bed to a river, dry in summer. The ruins are located in a charming and shady setting on either side of the river that flows directly into the sea. Heading towards the beach, the right bank is home to a vast necropolis, an amphitheatre, thermal baths and pontoons. On the left bank are the acropolis, another necropolis, a temple from the time of Marcus Aurelius and the Byzantine baths.
