Around St. Lawrence night, the ballet of shooting stars that can be seen piercing through the darkness offers an extraordinary celestial vault. Also known as the Perseids or Saint Lawrence's Tears, this swarm of meteors is visible in the earth's atmosphere. It's quite an impressive sight, best admired in Rovinj, but especially in the pure, light pollution-free skies of the Dalmatian islands: Lošinj, Hvar (Jelsa), Lastovo and Biševo.
