A shimmering carnival! In addition to the songs, music and brass bands, an arty, festive and sporty atmosphere warms up the streets.
Disguises, brass bands, live music, DJ parties and a festive, sporty, good-natured atmosphere heat up the streets during Rijeka Carnival! The festivities begin with the traditional handing over of the keys to the carnival prince, and end on Ash Wednesday with the burning of the pust, a puppet symbolizing all the ills of the past year. Originally, a law prevented people from wearing masks in the street. But the carnival took over and became the biggest in Croatia.
