In the palace of the governor of the Austro-Hungarian crown, bitter negotiations took place, during the First World War, between the Italian fascist Arditi and the independentists about the annexation of the city (Fiume). The museum (history and navy), with its collections (archaeology, arts, ethnology, military), tells us about the past of the region, the shipyards, the war industry.
Next door, the Zrinski Castle houses the Natural History Museum.
