VILLAGE DE VEPRINAC
Historic village built on the foundations of a prehistoric settlement housing a loggia, the chapel of Sainte-Anne..
At the end of the Lungomare, before reaching Volosko, a hiking trail takes you up to the historic village of Veprinac which, like Volosko, predates the construction of Opatija's first hotels. Probably built on the foundations of a prehistoric settlement, Veprinac (little holly) can be reached via the three-arched town gate, located in the former municipal building. Worth seeing: a loggia, the chapel of Sainte-Anne (1442) and the parish church of Saint-Marc. The view of Opatija and the Kvarner Gulf from the forecourt is magnificent.
