CHURCH AND HOUSE OF ST. GORGES
Sanctuary decorated with a beautiful fresco with a church, two baroque chapels and the town hall of Lovran.
The origins of the church date back to the 12th century. In the Gothic period, the sanctuary was decorated with a superb fresco. Separated from the church, the campanile became an integral part of it in the 18th century, when two Baroque chapels were built.
Opposite, the bishop's house is now the Lovran town hall. Above its portal, the wooden bas-relief, the work of local craftsmen, depicts St. George slaying the dragon. The wall features the coat of arms of a noble family.
