CATHEDRAL (KATEDRALA SVETI KVIRIN)
A medieval church with campanile that preserves a wooden angel protected in its structure by polyester resins.
Built in the5th century on the ruins of Roman baths, the original church was abandoned and then rebuilt in the Romanesque and Gothic eras. Its foundations have revealed mosaics dating from the beginning of Christianity. The bell tower was added in the 16th century. The wooden angel was protected in its structure by polyester resins. The Frankopan chapel was commissioned by the descendants of the Counts of Krk who exercised their power and patronage on the island until the 17th century.
