KASTEL FRANKOPAN
Fort in Krk with a panoramic view from the top of the towers with a rather steep climb.
In the 12th century, the Frankopan family built a fort, and in the 16th and 17th centuries, their heirs built the castle. In the inner courtyard, public areas have been set aside for cultural events and concerts. A permanent exhibition in the two imposing towers showcases the island's traditional costume and antique armory, including some fine crossbows. The view from the top of the towers takes in the entire archipelago and the island countryside. The climb is quite dizzying, and not recommended for people with reduced mobility.
