INSTITUT PÉDAGOGIQUE MARIN (INSTITUT PLAVI SVIJET)
Since 1999, the island's truncatus truncatus (dolphins) are the subject of a study conducted jointly with the Blue World Marine Conservation Institute and researchers in Milan. One of the last colonies to live in the north of the Adriatic would have more than members. The species is protected and it is not uncommon, during a boat outing, to see some of them. In Veli Lošinj, a space was set up for a permanent exhibition to raise awareness among the general public about these protection actions. Ask to see audiovisual animations around large marine mammals. In addition, the Institute is involved in the conservation of marine turtles. He regularly uses volunteers to help the structure work. One can also adopt a dolphin (make a donation) and participate in the collection of financial funds that allow the continuation of the mission of protection of the species, research and biodiversity in the Adriatic.
