TOWER MUSEUM (MUZEJSKI PROSTOR KULA)
Museum-gallery in Veli Lošinj with archaeological objects, ancient weapons, models and other documents.
This massive tower, built by the Venetians, dates from the 15th century. It was intended to protect the inhabitants from pirate attacks or cannon fire from attacking ships. At the beginning of the 19th century, it lost its military function. In 2001, it became a museum-gallery. The history of the port and the island from its origins is traced there, with archaeological objects from the Hellenistic and Roman periods, ancient weapons, maritime models and other documents.
