CHURCH OF THE ASSUMPTION OF THE HOLY VIRGIN MARY
Gothic and Renaissance church with a dazzling façade. The chapel inside has a wooden crucifix.
From its Croatian name, Crkva Uznesenja Blažene Djevice Marije. Immaculately white, set against an equally immaculate forecourt, the cathedral's facade is a dazzling sight as you enter the surrounding alleyways. Built in the 15th century, this Gothic-Renaissance church blends naturally into the Italianate limestone setting of the square. Inside, in the right-hand chapel, you'll find a remarkable 12th-century wooden crucifix.
